On 11 April 1838, ALMIRA BARNEY, executrix of the estate, petitioned to open probate and that Sarah had recently deceased and left a will.
WILL OF SARAH BARNEY
SARAH BARNEY named here daughter, ALMIRA BARNEY, and after her death, the personal property to her daughter, SOPHIA BARNEY. Named her son, F. LOWERY BARNEY. Will dated: 8 Dec. 1837. /s/ Sarah Barney
Witnesses: AARON HOLDEN and EDWARD M. ELDRIDGE.
Will proved: 11 April 1838.
